Master in Economics, majoring in Accounting and Auditing from the University of National and World Economy - Sofia.
He has specialized in “Control and Auditing of public expenditure” in Ecole Nationale d'Adinistration (ENA) - France, "Bank Management" in the International Banking Institute, "Managing HR” in London - England and “Change Management” in Utrecht - The Netherlands .
Has a long experience in the banking sector in senior positions in Pension Insurance Fund “Doverie”, DSK Bank, EI Bank (1993 - 2001). In the period 2001 - 2008 he has occupied managerial positions as Chief of District Branch Plovdiv - DSK Bank, director of the National Social Security Institute in Plovdiv, deputy executive director of the National Revenue Agency, CEO and Board member of Invest Bank and senior manager at Postbank.
Since 2009 Ivan Mavrov is the Chief Auditor of the BNB.
Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Bulgaria, the Global Institute of Internal Auditors - United States and the Committee of Internal Auditors in the European System of Central Banks.
Speaks English and Russian.
